Publication Ethics

BAYYIN: Jurnal Komunikasi Penyiaran Islam is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity and academic quality of published articles. Therefore, we establish publication ethics guidelines for all parties involved in the journal publishing process, namely editors, authors, and reviewers.

1. Editor's Responsibilities
The editor is responsible for:

  • Publication Decisions: Deciding on articles received based on relevance to the scope of the journal, originality, and scientific contribution.
  • Confidentiality: Maintaining the confidentiality of information related to submitted articles, except to authors, reviewers, or other parties involved in the publishing process.
  • Honesty and Objectivity: Ensuring that the selection and review process is carried out fairly and free from conflicts of interest.
  • Handling Plagiarism: The editor will evaluate articles to prevent the publication of articles containing plagiarism.

2. Author's Responsibilities
The author is responsible for:

  • Originality: Ensuring that the submitted article is an original work, has not been published before, and is not under evaluation in another journal.
  • Source Acknowledgement: Citing the work of others appropriately according to scientific standards.
  • Authorship: Listing all individuals who have made significant contributions to the research as authors.
  • Data Provision: Providing research data if needed for verification.
  • Avoiding Duplicate Publication: Do not submit the same article to more than one journal simultaneously.
  • Declaration of Conflict of Interest: Declare any conflicts of interest if any.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are responsible for:

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Providing objective, constructive, and timely reviews to assist editors in determining the suitability of articles.
  • Confidentiality: Maintaining the confidentiality of reviewed articles and not using information for personal gain.
  • Objectivity: Conducting reviews professionally without being influenced by personal bias or conflicts of interest.
  • Detection of Ethical Violations: Notifying the editor if they find indications of plagiarism or ethical violations in the article.

4. Violation of Publication Ethics
Violations of publication ethics, such as plagiarism, data manipulation, and duplication of publication, will be handled seriously. If found, the journal has the right to:

  • Reject the article.
  • Retract the published article.
  • Provide formal notification to the author and their institution.
